SALA PIATTI

Concert Season in Bergamo

The Sala Piatti is one of the most significant architectural landmarks in Bergamo Alta. Located within the Domus Magna complex - the historic seat of the MIA Foundation (Misericordia Maggiore) - the hall stands as a tribute to the city's musical tradition. Named after the cellist Alfredo Piatti, the structure serves as an example of the integration between historical preservation and artistic purpose.
The interior is characterized by a decorative apparatus that includes frescoes, ornamental stuccowork, and architectural details typical of historic Lombard residences. High ceilings and large windows contribute to a solemn and bright environment. However, the primary technical feature of the Sala Piatti is its acoustics. Designed to ensure optimal sound diffusion, the hall is considered a benchmark in Europe for chamber music, thanks to a resonance that allows for constant sonic clarity throughout the seating area.
For over a century, this space has hosted internationally renowned performers and instrumental ensembles. Its configuration allows for a direct relationship between the audience and the stage, maintaining high standards of prestige and formal quality. Today, the Sala Piatti continues to function as a cultural institution, representing a high-profile venue for the artistic life of Bergamo Alta.

The Sala piatti will host the The Four Seasons by Vivaldi by Opera e lirica, don't miss this unforgettable evening on 26th September 2026
